Carpet needs repair in Elko NV

Is your carpet in need of repair?  Do you live in or around Elko, NV?  If so, you’ve found the right place!

Blemishes in your carpet can be a real eyesore, not to mention a safety hazard in some cases.  The good news is that your carpet can be easily repaired in most cases.

Here is a quick rundown of the most common repairs we run into at Afiliate Floor Covering and how we recommend handling them.

Wrinkles in the carpet

If your carpet has wrinkles or is lifted off the ground in some areas, your carpet was either installed incorrectly or may have just loosened up over time.

Let’s face it, not all carpet installers are created equal.  If one of the less experienced installers has installed your carpet, it may be showing wrinkles shortly after the initial installation.  This means they did not stretch the carpet enough.  The good news is that this can easily be remedied by simply re-stretching the carpet.

The other common cause of a wrinkled carpet is excessive wear or over-stretching   Yes, a carpet can be overstretched.  If this is the cause of your carpet wrinkles, this is not something we would recommend having repaired.  Basically, it’s time for new carpet.  Stretching is just going to  damage the carpet further and it will wrinkle again.

Carpet seams are showing

While it’s impossible to hide seams completely, excessively visible seams are another issues caused by poor installation.  If the installer was unable to cut the carpet perfectly straight or adhere the seam properly, it can lead to a very visible seam that even peals apart in extreme cases.

If this is something you are experiencing, not to worry.   In some cases simply recutting and gluing the seam will have you back in business in not time!

Carpet is Torn

If your carpet is torn or has a hole in it, this is a more difficult repair to handle.  What makes this difficult is trying to match the existing carpet.  If you have leftover scraps to use as a patch, this helps, but you will often still notice that the carpet has been patched since the wear patter will be different.  Additionally, the seams will typically be slightly visible around the patch.

In some cases, carpet cannot be repaired back to a reasonable quality at which point we would recommend installing new carpet or possibly a carpet alternative.

Regardless of the specific carpet repair you are in need of, we would be more than happy to help you get your home looking beautiful again.  If we can’t repair your carpet, we’ll work with you until we find a solutions that meets your specific needs.
